What West asks of a system.
Technically, the west is the easiest and best solar in Melbourne. The growth corridors out through Point Cook, Tarneit and Truganina are full of large modern roofs with clean planes, almost no shading and good orientation, on houses with air conditioning that runs hard all summer.
The catch is exposure. It is flat, open and genuinely windy out there, and mounting systems need to be specified for the wind loading rather than assumed. Salt influence near Altona and Werribee South is worth accounting for too.
