About us
Started in Trentham. Now working right across Victoria.
We are still the same crew, in the same town, doing the same careful work — there is just a lot more of the state on the map now.
Where we started
A local business, in a cold little town.
Trentham sits at about seven hundred metres. It is one of the colder towns in the state, the winters are long, and the power goes off more often than people in the city would put up with. That turns out to be a very good place to learn how to design an energy system properly.
We built the business here doing solar for our neighbours — the ranges, the goldfields, the bush blocks out the back of Blackwood and Lyonville. Along the way we became the leading solar retailer in Hepburn Shire and the Macedon Ranges, and we are still headquartered in the same town.
That local work is still the core of what we do, and it is still where our own crews are on the tools every day.

Off-grid
The work that took us further out.
Off-grid is what pushed our map outward. Standalone power is a specialist job — you are designing for the worst week of the year, not the best day, and there are not many people who will travel to do it properly.
So we do. We design and install complete off-grid systems right across northern and western Victoria, and up into the High Country around Mansfield. Farms, bush blocks, alpine country, and new builds where the connection quote came back at six figures.
It is the hardest work we take on and the work we are proudest of.

How we cover the state
Our design, our equipment, our warranty.
We cannot have a van in every suburb, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Across Melbourne and the wider state we work through a network of Clean Energy Council accredited installers we have vetted ourselves, building to our design and our standard.
What does not get handed over is the part that decides whether a system is any good. We design it, on your real usage data. We specify the equipment — the same brands we put on our own jobs at home. We hold the warranty, we handle the rebates, and we stay the point of contact from the first phone call through to the one you make in year seven.
It is a deliberately different model to the lead-generation outfits that sell your details to whoever is cheapest that week. You are buying a system from us, not an introduction to a stranger.
- Every system designed in-house on your own interval usage data
- Equipment specified by us — established brands with real local support
- Installers accredited, vetted and working to our documented standard
- Warranty, rebates and aftercare held by us, not passed down the chain

The name
Trentham Electrical & Solar is now Trentham Energy.
The name changed because the work did. We started as an electrical business that did solar. These days we design and install complete energy systems — solar, storage, off-grid, hot water, climate and charging.
We are still the same people, still Registered Electrical Contractor 22757, and still based in Trentham. We have simply stopped chasing general electrical work and put everything into energy.
The other reason is reach. “Trentham Electrical” had started to undersell where we actually work.

What stays the same
Wherever the job is, these don't change.
Clean Energy Council certified
Certified system designers and installers, undertaking rigorous continuing professional development every year to stay on top of the industry.
Sized on your data
We use your real usage and consumption patterns to size the system and project the payback. No guesswork, no oversized quote.
Australian-made where we can
We favour Australian-made, owned and serviced products, supporting local business and genuinely supportable equipment.
Quality that lasts
Function and form are considered on every install. Most proud homeowners have spent a lot of time and money on their home — we want that still to be true after we leave.
One point of accountability
We design the system and we carry the warranty. Across our home shires our own team installs it; further afield we work with accredited installers building to our design. Either way, the company you call afterwards is us.
After-service support
Resounding feedback from our clients is that clear and consistent communication is what sets us apart. We answer the phone when we can, and call back promptly.
Country
Acknowledgement of Country
We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we work and live here in Dja Dja Wurrung country. We commit to collaborate with First Nations communities, to promote sustainable practice, protect ancient sites and culture with equitable access to the benefits of clean energy. We acknowledge Elders, past and present, and their continuing culture and connection to Country.

Talk to the people who'll design it.
Not a call centre and not a lead broker. Send us a recent power bill and you'll hear back from the team that does the work.
