Macedon Ranges Solar Power of New Gisborne has closed and its company has been wound up. What that means for owners, warranties and service.
Macedon Ranges Solar Power, the solar installer based at New Gisborne, has closed. The company tied to it went into liquidation in June 2025 and has since been deregistered. If you own a Macedon Ranges Solar Power system, it does not stop working because the business has gone, and the warranties from the makers of your panels and inverter are separate from the installer. What has gone is the company you would have rung, so a few steps now will save you trouble later.
What happened to Macedon Ranges Solar Power
This comes from public records, as they stood on 4 November 2026:
- SolarQuotes notes that Macedon Ranges Solar Power has been reported as out of business, and that ASIC listed the company as in liquidation, pointing to Solar Providers Australia Pty Ltd
- an ASIC notice shows that on 17 June 2025 the members of Solar Providers Australia Pty Ltd resolved to wind up the company and appointed liquidators from Dye & Co of Hawthorn East
- ABN Lookup shows the ABN that held the Macedon Ranges Solar Power business name was cancelled on 15 December 2025
- the ASIC company file shows Solar Providers Australia Pty Ltd deregistered on 16 March 2026
- Solar Directory has archived the Macedon Ranges Solar Power listing, and the company's website did not answer when we checked
The same ABN also held the names Campaspe Solar Power, Central Highlands Solar Power, Australian Solar Providers, Greenlec Electrical Contracting and Victorian Solar Maintenance. If one of those names is on your paperwork, the steps below are worth following too.
Your Macedon Ranges Solar Power system keeps running
A solar system does not need its installer to make power. Panels, inverter and meter carry on as they were. What you lose is the person who knew your system and the phone number you would have called.
If your inverter shows a fault, a breaker keeps tripping, or you notice scorching or a burning smell, ring a licensed electrician. Do not open the inverter or the isolators yourself.
Macedon Ranges Solar Power warranties: what still stands
There are two different promises, and the closure affects them differently.
The makers' product warranties. These come from the companies that made your panels, inverter and any battery. Consumer Affairs Victoria says that if a product has a written warranty and is still inside the warranty period, you should contact the manufacturer directly when the business that sold it is insolvent. Check how long your warranty runs, and ask who pays the labour to swap a faulty part, because that varies.
The installer's own warranty. Under Solar Victoria's rules, retailers in its program must give a minimum five year whole of system warranty that includes quality of work. That promise came from the business, and the business is gone, so do not count on it. If you have a real workmanship problem, Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 558 181 can tell you what options remain.
Find the brands on your system
SolarQuotes lists these brands against Macedon Ranges Solar Power: JA Solar, Jinko, Qcells, REC, Trina and Seraphim panels, and Fronius, SMA, Zeversolar and Huawei inverters. No batteries are listed. Yours may differ, so check your own gear.
Photograph the label on your inverter and any battery, close enough to read the brand, the model and the serial number. Do not remove any covers. You can usually find the panel brand on your invoice or in your warranty papers.
Keep your Macedon Ranges Solar Power paperwork together
Find everything you were given when the system went in and keep it together, on paper and as photos on your phone:
- the contract or invoice from Macedon Ranges Solar Power, with the install date
- the Certificate of Electrical Safety
- any warranty documents or registration emails
- the system design, if you were given one
- any monitoring login details
This is what a manufacturer will ask for when you make a claim, and what the next electrician will want to see.
Get your monitoring in your own name
Check you can still log in to your inverter's monitoring app. If the account was set up under a Macedon Ranges Solar Power email address, contact the inverter maker and ask how to move it to your own. Monitoring is how a fault gets spotted early. A system can sit there making no power for weeks with nobody noticing.
If you paid a deposit
If you paid Macedon Ranges Solar Power for work that was never finished, ring Consumer Affairs Victoria first. Its advice is that a customer may be able to ask their bank for a chargeback or make a claim as an unsecured creditor. Time limits can apply to a chargeback, and with the company now deregistered your options may be narrow.
Who can service a Macedon Ranges Solar Power system
Any licensed electrician who works on solar can look at a Macedon Ranges Solar Power system and tell you what it is doing. When you ring around, give them the brands and models, the age of the system and what you are seeing, and send your photos.
We are Trentham Energy, an electrical and solar business based in Trentham, working through Gisborne, New Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton, Romsey and Lancefield. We use our own staff, not subcontractors. We cannot take over the Macedon Ranges Solar Power workmanship warranty, as that promise belonged to the old business. What we can do is check the system, tell you what is wrong and help you take a product fault to the maker. Send us your photos and tell us what the system is doing, and we will tell you plainly what we can do: get in touch.

Questions
Is Macedon Ranges Solar Power still trading?
The public records say no. Its company went into liquidation in June 2025, the ABN was cancelled in December 2025 and the company was deregistered in March 2026. If you know different, you can ask us to correct the record on our Macedon Ranges Solar Power page.
Can I still claim a warranty on a Macedon Ranges Solar Power system?
On the products, usually yes, by going to the manufacturer directly while the warranty runs. The installer's own workmanship warranty came from a business that no longer exists, so do not count on that part.
Will my Macedon Ranges Solar Power system stop working now the company has closed?
No. The system runs on its own. Check your app or your inverter screen from time to time so you know it is still making power, because the people who may once have kept an eye on it are gone.
Who do I call about a fault on my Macedon Ranges Solar Power system?
A licensed electrician who works on solar. Have your photos of the labels ready, along with your invoice and the install date.
