Why we think this
Under threat because WhySolar lists it as collapsed: Deregistered (2022). Brisbane-based installer. Collapsed amid supply chain disruptions and margin pressure. Still trading signs: Google still lists Sky Solar Energy as open (70 reviews); its website http://www.skysolarenergy.com.au/ still loads; ABN 65153856387 (SKY SOLAR ENERGY PTY LTD) is still active. One more independent source would confirm it as closed.
The date comes from: Last SolarQuotes review (last seen trading).
One sign of trouble (a cancelled name or ABN, a dead website, a run of one star reviews) but not enough to call it closed.
What customers said
The 5 star reviews say
The 5-star reviews, all from 2018, praise the salesperson's professional explanations, competitive pricing, and friendly office staff, and they say the installers were hardworking, polite and finished on time. One notes that a small installation delay was fixed quickly after the sale.
The 1 star reviews say
The 1-star reviews, from 2025 and 2026, say that a warranty inverter replacement was sent but the system has stayed unusable because no installation booking has been arranged, with the customer told to pay for installation and then given no timeline. The other says a promised Bunnings gift card from a referral was never provided, and that they were passed between consultants with no one taking responsibility.
