What we found
Trading: http://www.hellosolar.com.au/ does not answer (URLError), but the business is plainly still trading (Google still lists Hello Solar as open (362 reviews); it had a SolarQuotes review on 9 August 2026), so we read that as the website blocking our check, not a closure.
Open for business: Google, its own website or recent reviews show it trading. A cancelled old name or ABN beside a business that plainly trades on is a restructure, not a closure.
What customers said
The 50 most recent of its 139 SolarQuotes reviews
The 5 star reviews say
Five-star reviews praise the sales process (prompt, honest, good value, willing to negotiate or check the roof first), the tidy and punctual installation, and responsive follow-up and customer service after the install.
The 1 star reviews say
One-star reviews complain about a botched install (battery falling off the wall, failed inspection, panels on the wrong roof, roof and vent damage, water entering the house), a wrong meter connection left unfixed, unfulfilled quotes with materials swapped and extra charges demanded, a deposit withheld on cancellation, and poor responses from the company when problems arose.
