What we found
Trading: Google still lists Defended Energy as open (112 reviews); its website https://www.defended.com.au/ still loads; it had a SolarQuotes review on 28 October 2026.
Open for business: Google, its own website or recent reviews show it trading. A cancelled old name or ABN beside a business that plainly trades on is a restructure, not a closure.

The 5 star reviews say
Reviewers praise the sales staff for quoting, site visits and clear advice, the fast install (often within a week of signing up), tidy and punctual installers, and help with rebates, VPP registration and grid lodgement. Several also mention responsive after-install support, such as quick fixes by phone or a return visit to correct a minor wiring issue.
