What we found
Trading: Google still lists Chromagen Australia as open (982 reviews); its website https://chromagen.com.au/ still loads; it had a SolarQuotes review on 9 October 2026. Watch: Recent SolarQuotes reviews have turned bad: 2 of 2 reviews in the last 6 months are 1 star.
Open for business: Google, its own website or recent reviews show it trading. A cancelled old name or ABN beside a business that plainly trades on is a restructure, not a closure.
What customers said
42 SolarQuotes reviews
The 5 star reviews say
The few 5-star reviews praise the efficiency of a previous Chromagen hot water system and the sales process, with one noting a smooth experience before install. The 5-star reviews are old (2010 to 2012), so they say little about recent sales or installs.
The 1 star reviews say
The 1-star reviews mostly complain about poor after-sales service: unanswered calls, warranty repairs charged as service fees, faults recurring, leaks and water damage, and rude or dismissive staff. Several also describe hot water panels and systems failing or rusting, and one recent review says the company refused to quote a small 3kW job, while another describes a 2026 battery install with poor cabling, failed inspection and no reply afterwards.
